before telling my views i want TO QUOTE EXTENSIVELY FROM ARTICLES THAT HAVE APPEARED FROM ECONOMIST ,MOST RESPECTED MAGAZINE OF THW WORLD

INDIANS’ anger over rising corruption has reached feverish levels. What people are calling a “season of scams” includes the alleged theft of billions by officials behind last year’s Commonwealth games in Delhi; $40 billion in revenues lost from the crooked sale of 2G telecoms licences; and over $40 billion stolen in Uttar Pradesh alone from schemes subsidising food and fuel for the poor. Foreign businessmen, who have slashed investment over the past year, rank graft as their biggest headache behind appalling infrastructure. Now India’s anti-corruption chief has been forced out over, well, corruption
Graft is hardly new in India: the Bofors scandal brought down the government in 1989. But there seems to be more of it about than ever, if only because India is getting richer fast, and the faster the economy grows, the more chances arise for mind-boggling theft. The government says that in the next five-year plan period, which starts next year, $1 trillion will be spent on roads, railways, ports and so on, with billions more on re-equipping the armed forces and welfare. Add in an insatiable appetite for scarce land, water and minerals and a monsoon of bribes is forecast.
Some are inclined to shrug their shoulders. After all, corruption does not seem to be stopping India from growing. Yet imagine how much better the country would be doing without it. Corruption raises costs not just to Indians, but also to the foreigners whose capital India needs. Thanks in part to those scandals, India’s stockmarket was the worst-performing outside the Muslim world over the past year.
Corruption in India is a consequence of the nexus between Bureaucracy, politics and criminals. India is now no longer considered a soft state. It has now become a consideration state where everything can be had for a consideration. Today, the number of ministers with an honest image can be counted on fingers. At one time, bribe was paid for getting wrong things done but now bribe is paid for getting right things done at right time

CAUSES OF CORRUPTION ACCORDING to upsc portal
Causes of corruption

The causes of corruption are many and complex. Following are some of the causes of corruption.

· Emergence of political elite who believe in interest-oriented rather than nation-oriented programmes and policies.

· Artificial scarcity created by the people with malevolent intentions wrecks the fabric of the economy.

· Corruption is caused as well as increased because of the change in the value system and ethical qualities of men who administer. The old ideals of morality, service and honesty are regarded as an achronistic.

· Tolerance of people towards corruption, complete lack of intense public outcry against corruption and the absence of strong public forum to oppose corruption allow corruption to reign over people.

· Vast size of population coupled with widespread illiteracy and the poor economic infrastructure lead to endemic corruption in public life.

· In a highly inflationary economy, low salaries of government officials compel them to resort to the road of corruption. Graduates from IIMs with no experience draw a far handsome salary than what government secretaries draw.

· Complex laws and procedures alienate common people to ask for any help from government.

MY VIEWS:

ANNA HAZARES FAST HAS ARISED OUR FEELINGS AGAINST CORRUPTION.BUT DEFINTELY IT IS THE START OF FIGHT.
HOW CAN YOU EXPECT CORRUPTION TO END WHEN THERE IS NO CHANGE IN PEOPLE MINDSIGHT.
EVERYONE WANTS MONEY,IOF YOU ARE GOING TO STEAL 1000 YOU NEED TO SPEND ONE OR TWO HUNDRED TO KEEEP MANY PEOPLE SILENT EXCEPT SOME WHO STAND BY THEIR MIND.
WHEN YOU HAVE CORRUPTION FROM THE TOP CRUX TO THE BOTTOM EVN AN MAGIC WAND CANNOT END CORRUPTION.

WE NEED WILL FIRST TO DO THIS.SPECIAL COURTS SHOULD BE ESTABLISHED TO BRING MASS TRIAL.BUT HOW TO CATCH THE CORRUPT??A SPECIAL FORCE WITH INDEPENDEWNT POWER MUCH MORE THEN PRESENT LOK PAL SWHICH SHOULD BE ABLE TO INVESTIGATE ANT CORRUPT CASE FROM ANY AREA SHOULD BE BROUGHT.I SUPPORT JANLOK PAL BILL.BUT DO NOT foRGET OUR POLITICIANS ARE INTELLIGENT CREATURES WHO ARE CLEVER IN BRINGING OUT LAWS BUT MUCH MORE SMARTER IN NOT ALLOWING TO FUNCTION IT.

WE ALL SHOULD JOIN HANDS TO FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION .WE SHOLD SPREAD AWARNESS THAT HOW CORRUPTION AFFFECTS OUR LIFE.IN INDIA MANY PEOPLE STILL ASK WHAT IS GOVERNMNT??HOW IT AFFECTS MY LIFE??PRICE RISE AFFECTS EVERYONE.LACK OF INFRASTRUCTRE AFFECTS EVERYONE.

FROM EDUCATION TO ELECTIONS CORRUPTION MAKES YOU GET LESSER QUALITY PRODUCT.
WHAT CAN WE DO??DO NOT FIGHT CORUPTION ALONE UNLESS AND UNTIL YOU HAVE THE WILL POWER AND STRENTGH TO DO IT.

KEEEP THE FOIRE ALIVE ,STRIKE AT RIGHT MOVEMEMT.TILL THEN DO THUNGS WHATEVER POSSIBLE CONSIDERING YOUR SAFETY.EDUCATED SHOULD VOTE.THEY SHOULD COME OUT TO KEEP WAY CORRUPT.

Corruption will be out one day, however much one may try to conceal it: and the public
can as its right and duty, in every case of justifiable suspicion, call its servants to strict
account, dismiss them, sue them in a law court, or appoint an arbitrator or inspector to
scrutinize their conduct, as it likes.”-FATHER OF NATION MAHATMA GANDHI

IF YOU BRING ALL THE MONEY IN THE POCKETS OF CORRUPT INDIA WILL BE AN BETTER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN FIVE YEARS.KEEP THE FIRE GLOWING IN YOUR MIND.JAN LOK PALL BILL IS THE RIGHT STEP.BUT IT IS JUST THE ATART.LET IUS STRIKE AT THE ROOTS AT RIGHT MOVEMENT.
